How We Pay Freelancers at Right Right Now.
The only thing that we’re fussy about is deadlines. Not having work done on time means that the work may as well not have been turned in. Time is part of the contract, and there is no padding. We will ask for and expect status updates to be given to us without chasing them, so if you’re half way through, say, “I’m halfway through.” My reputation is the only thing that is going to make my business survive, and I have to count on yours, and if needed, I have to find a plan “B,” for my jobs.
You didn’t freelance to be chasing checks and having billing issues. For all work that we offer, we are currently paying as follows:
- Any time you are owed $500 or more for completed and accepted work, we can issue a check. This may change as we get bigger.
- We pay when milestones are complete as per our e-z agreement. Our terms are spelled out to when and how we get paid, and we’ve yet to see an agreement that spans multiple pages.
- WARNING: If you have had 72 hours to complete a task and it is not on time, we may not pay. Do not work with us if deadlines are an issue. On Time–to the hour–delivery is what runs our business, and there is no padding in our deadlines. We refund money the first time a deadline is missed, and we can’t afford to work with people that cause us to issue refunds.
- If you have under $500 that we owe, we pay every month on the 10th, via Paypal or we can issue and mail a check.
- If you don’t ask for cash, we’ll pay you on the tenth without you asking.
- We do ask that you invoice us prior to payment, after completion of the milestones as agreed. We generally will pay without invoices.
- You will have to fill out a W9 prior to us being able to pay you, and we do send 1099s out. We can’t issue payment otherwise.
- You will have to give us a valid contact # for the first payment so we can get in touch to resolve issues.
- If we have any payment issues, we will resolve those as a first priority within 24 hours for PayPal issues, and we will resolve them within 72 hours for anything else. If we’ve issued a check, we will stop payment on the check first.
We may add to or subtract from this as we need to, but this is, for now, how we’re paying people so that everything is clear. Do not represent that you can do work that you can’t do…and everyone will be happy.
